My name is Glynn Holmes Sr and I have been faithfully serving at a church home, militarily or educationally for over 30 years, and I am running for City Council Member Post 6. While I was born in New Orleans, my wife Tammy and I have made the wonderful city of Forsyth our home since February 2020. Tammy, however, was born and raised here in Forsyth and is a graduate of Mary Persons. The span of my 30 years of serving consists of 20 years Air Force, Four years as an Educational Services Specialist for DoD managing the ASVAB Career Exploration Program, and several years as a high school or middle level teacher or volunteer educator. Prior to making Forsyth our home, I was an Educational Services Specialist with my area of responsibility as the entire state of Nebraska and 18 counties in Iowa. After speaking with the then Governor of Nebraska, Pete Ricketts, I was able to extend my program into several Nebraska correctional facilities helping to boost morale and lower the rate of recidivism. Additionally, I partnered with the Nebraska Christian Home Education Association (NCHEA) and served the home school community. Lastly, the ASVAB Career Exploration Program was proposed to and accepted by the Nebraska Department of Education as a supplemental path to career exploration. Currently I voluntarily serve as an Alzheimer’s Association Community Educator for the area of Forsyth Monroe County (Macon as well), math tutor for CGTC at the achievement center, an after school tutoring program and Community Connect Program at Union Hill Church. As a business hobby, I own “IT Lives Audiobook Narration and Production” and have currently narrated and produced 27 audiobooks through Amazon.
